New London County (1st XV) vs. Providence (1st XV)
30 April 2011
Location: Clark Lane Middle School105 Clark Ln, Waterford, CT
SCORE:
New London County: 25
Providence: 36
Warm, overcast day in New London. Perfect weather for a game of rugby. Both teams were at the pitch early, a sign of their eagerness for the day to begin.
The first half was anybodies game, with consistend tackling, and hard hits coming from both sides. New London spent most of the half in the opposing teams 50. And the score showed that with them with a slight lead at halftime.
Providence came out in the second half determined ready to prove something, and did so by scoring within the first 45seconds right under the post. Within the next 20 minutes it was Providences game, scoring 3 times. New London had a slight resurgance in the last part of the half scoring to lift their own spirits. Unfortunetly, it was a little too late.
Despite a little bit of chippyness from both sides, a hard fought match.
Referee: Pearce Mara (MetNY)
